Arrange for the house to be aired and the water and gas checked
Book a clean if it's been more than a season
Arrange for deliveries to be received
If the water was drained, make sure someone refills it

On arrival

Open all windows and closets
Run every tap for a few minutes
Check under sinks for leaks
Air futons in the sun if you can
Check the heating or air-con works
