板橋Kanto
Itabashi, in the north-west of Tokyo's 23 wards, began as Itabashi-juku, the first post town on the old Nakasendo road out of Edo. Today it is a largely residential ward of family houses, apartment buildings and the big Takashimadaira housing estate, a short ride from Ikebukuro.
The Toei Mita Line, the Tobu Tojo Line, the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho and Fukutoshin lines and the JR Saikyo Line all run through the ward, which keeps rental demand steady. MonoHaus manages apartments and houses in Itabashi for owners abroad, from tenants and repairs to dealing with building management companies, and reports in English.

地域の特徴Local know-how
The low ground along the Arakawa River in the north of the ward is shown on the ward's flood hazard map. We help you check where your property sits, keep drainage clear, and check on the house after typhoons and heavy rain.
Some parts of Itabashi have closely packed older wooden houses, where Tokyo encourages fire-resistant rebuilding and earthquake strengthening. We arrange inspections, explain any subsidies the ward offers, and get quotes before anything is done.
