Tottori is the quiet end of Japan: the least populous prefecture, strung along the Japan Sea between the famous sand dunes and the volcanic slopes of Mount Daisen. Overseas owners come here for space, unhurried villages, and old farmhouses at a fraction of city prices — and MonoHaus looks after those homes for them, in English.
Winter is the test. Damp Japan Sea winds bring snow to the hills around Daisen and Chizu, and a house left shut until spring can come back musty, frozen, or worse. We air rooms, run the water, check roofs after heavy falls, and send you photo reports so you know how the house came through.

地域の特徴Local know-how
Tottori's coast and mountains see cold, wet winters with real snowfall inland. Seasonal preparation — draining exposed pipes, clearing gutters, checking for snow damage — matters more here than on the sunny Seto side.
The prefecture felt strong quakes in 2000 and 2016, the latter centred near Kurayoshi. After any significant tremor we check old tiled roofs, earthen walls, and foundations, and coordinate local repairers where needed.
