上田Chubu
Ueda grew up around the castle of the Sanada clan, famous for twice holding off Tokugawa armies, and the Chikuma River runs through the middle of the city. Beyond the centre are the temples and hot springs of Bessho Onsen on the Shioda plain, and, high on the plateau, the Sugadaira highland with its ski slopes and summer sports camps.
The Hokuriku Shinkansen stops at Ueda, so Tokyo is roughly an hour and a half away, and the basin is one of the drier, sunnier corners of Japan. Winters are still properly cold. MonoHaus looks after family homes, farmhouses and highland cottages here, handles freeze protection and seasonal checks, and reports to you in English.

地域の特徴Local know-how
Ueda gets little rain or snow compared with the rest of Nagano, but winter nights still fall well below zero. We drain or protect water lines in empty houses and check after cold snaps, with extra care for anything up on the Sugadaira plateau.
Many houses around Ueda come with outbuildings, storehouses and farmland that have sat unused for years. We check the main house and the kura, keep gardens and fields from running wild, and help you work out what can be kept, let or sold.
