用語集Glossary
Cover for earthquake, tsunami and volcano damage, sold only with fire insurance.
Earthquake insurance can only be added to a fire policy, for 30–50% of its insured amount (capped at ¥50 million for the building and ¥10 million for contents). Base rates are set nationally, so premiums are similar between insurers. Damage is paid in four grades — total, large partial, small partial and partial loss — at 100%, 60%, 30% and 5% of the insured amount.
