用語集Glossary
Japan's scale for how strongly an earthquake is felt at a place.
The Japan Meteorological Agency measures shaking at each location on a ten-level scale: 0 to 4, 5 lower, 5 upper, 6 lower, 6 upper and 7. Unlike magnitude, which describes the earthquake itself, shindo describes the shaking where you are. From around shindo 5 lower, an empty house is worth checking once it's safe.
