用語集Glossary
Formally giving up an inheritance through the family court.
An heir can renounce an inheritance by applying to the family court, generally within three months of learning they're an heir. Renouncing gives up everything — assets and debts alike — so it's considered where an estate carries debts or the property would cost more than it's worth. Take advice before treating the house as your own if you might renounce.
